If I make a donation, can I decide what my money is used for?
Large donations can select which program their donation services. No public donations are used for salary purposes.
How is A Few Good Roots Inc. different than other Richmond, VA area charities?
A Few Good Roots Inc. stands in the gap of the most needed services. Our goal is to assist the those with whatever they need ( free therapy, food pantry, free case management, educational assistance for their children) at one inclusive resource. We also come directly to you when transportation is a barrier.
How many people do you impact with your charitable work?
per year we service between 200-300 persons. all persons don't receive all services. we service as many as our budget allows. Free counseling services 2019 about 50 persons a year. Case management 2018 150 persons a year yearly thanksgiving events 2016-2019 donations that assisted in feeing over 250 fails per year.
What items are accepted for donations?
We offer our specific items for those we served based on identified needs. We accept donations of all (non expired, shelf stable foods), new bags (bookbags or drawstrings), new travel size hygiene items (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.), new clothes (socks, underclothes), winter gear (gloves, scarves, hats, blankets). Do you offer funding for housing?
Housing is a major concern for many of those we serve. We want to assist everyone but our budget simply does not allow. All housing vouchers are given as funding allows. Please contact A Few Good Roots Inc (link to contact us or my email) to see if assistance is available.
